Dr. Lucia Cevidanes of That School Up North served as our speaker for the 2016 Wade Lecture, which was titled "Rationale for 3D Imaging in Our Practices: How Can It Improve Patient Care?" Dr. Cevidanes drew from her extensive knowledge and numerous publications on the use of 3-D/Cone Beam imaging to enhance clinical practice, including growth monitoring, diagnosis of skeletal and condylar asymmetries, and implant set-up. Dr. Cevidanes also reviewed open-source software currently available to practitioners to view and analyze the beautiful 3-D imagery featured in her presentation. Thank you Dr. Cevidanes for an informative look forward on the merger of current technology and clinical orthodontics!
The Wade Lecture is hosted every two years by the Section of Orthodontics in remembrance of the teaching and service of longtime orthodontic faculty members Dr. Robert E. Wade and Dr. Dale B. Wade.
